Astute Beta Server Black Screen or Crashing: Causes and Fixes

A black screen or crash usually comes from an outdated version, low storage or RAM, a corrupted cache, a mismatched resource file, or a bad connection. Work through the fixes in order: the early ones are quick and fix most cases.

Match your symptom

Symptom	Likely cause

Fixes, in order

Restart the phone. This clears memory and stuck processes.
Update the app. Compare with the latest on the download page. See How to update.
Free up storage. Keep at least 1.5 GB free.
Clear the cache. Settings → Apps → Astute Beta Server → Storage → Clear cache.
Close background apps to free RAM.
Switch networks. Test Wi-Fi and mobile data. Turn off any VPN.
Remove any manual OBB file. A mismatched resource file is a common black-screen cause. See OBB file guide.
Check the date and time. Turn on automatic date and time.
Let the phone cool down if it feels hot.
Reinstall the APK. Uninstall, delete the file, download again from the download page, check the size, and reinstall. See How to uninstall.

Clear cache vs clear data

Clear cache removes temporary files and is safe to try.
Clear data resets the app, and you may need to register your UID again. Do this only if cache clearing didn’t help.

If it only crashes on your phone

If many players have the same problem

A crash after a Free Fire update or a server change can affect many players. Update the app, then wait. See Server down or full.

What not to do

Don’t install other “fix” APKs from comments or other sites.
Don’t enter your Free Fire password into any screen offered as a fix.
Don’t factory reset the phone for this problem.
